¡Tierra! (meaning "Earth") is a sustainable development project undertaken by Lavazza to support three communities of small coffee growers in Latin America with the ambition to combine product quality with improved living conditions for coffee growers.

In support of this project and the growers of prized Arabica coffee, Lavazza has added Lavazza ¡Tierra! to the Lavazza family of fine coffees.

About Lavazza ¡Tierra! Coffee:

• 100% Arabica coffee
• Features aromatic notes and floral sweetness, together with good body
• Made by blending green coffee beans grown exclusively from the communities involved
• A product that boasts complete traceability

To produce ¡Tierra!, Lavazza works with the Rainforest Alliance, an international non-governmental organisation actively involved in promoting sustainable coffee.

Lavazza ¡Tierra! coffee growers undergo the Rainforest Alliance certification process to ensure that they comply with its rigorous social and environmental standards. This guarantees Lavazza's ongoing commitment to support these coffee growers and their communities.

The communities Lavazza is working with are located in Honduras, Peru and Colombia. It is here that the project set the goal of enhancing the work of its beneficiaries by bringing in modern coffee-growing equipment and the right instruments to market coffee at more favorable conditions, adopting environmentally-friendly technologies.
